Rosa Aguayo, 79, of Palatka, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Orange Park Medical Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Ponce, Puerto Rico and had lived in Putnam County for the past 44 years coming from Hammonton, New Jersey. Rosa had worked as a seamstress and was of the Catholic faith. In her leisure time, Rosa enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. A favorite saying from Rosa was, “Just sit back, and enjoy the ride.”
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Natividad Aguayo.
She is survived by her daughters, Sonia Moore, Gladys Aguayo and Maria Soto, sons, Natividad Aguayo, Jr. and Gilbert Aguayo, 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
