Susy Lee Johnson-Rich, 78, of Palatka passed from this beautiful life on Thursday, May 19th, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones following an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka where she attended Palatka High School. Susy worked with Miller Enterprises and served as a manager of many convenient stores throughout the county. In earlier years, she worked as a cafeteria employee at Hastings Elementary School. She also attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. In Susy’s spare time, she enjoyed shooting darts, playing pool, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry S. Johnson, her mother, Bertie Lane Oliver, her stepfather, Dale Oliver, and two brothers, Sam Johnson, and Jack Johnson.
Susy is survived by her husband on 34 years, Michael G. Rich of Palatka. Two daughters, Kim Gornto (Buster) of Orange Springs, and Missy Motes (Scott) of Palatka. Three sisters, Vivian Ochoa, Sherry Murphy, and Linda Anderson (Randy). Two brothers, Michael Oliver and Billy (Dale) Johnson. Six grandchildren, Travis Shell, Brandy Shell, Shanna (Levi) Cribbs, Layne Watson, Jaylin Motes, and Emma Motes along with two great-grandchildren, Colton Gornto and Carter Aldridge.
In keeping Susy’s wishes, no services are scheduled.
