Sylvia Jean Hutcherson, 86, of Palatka, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her home following an extended illness. She was a native of Turkey Creek, FL and returned to Putnam County in 2004 coming from Deland. She had worked as a designer for a parachute manufacturing company and had designed many parachutes that were featured in motion pictures. Sylvia was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge 184 and was a volunteer at Putnam Community Medical Center.
She is survived by her children, Denise Dillingham (Buddy) of Palatka, Pamela Ham (Erol) of Augusta, GA, John Elder, Jr. (Linda) of Sarasota, FL, Kenneth R. Chestnut (Diana) of Indianapolis, IN, and Jerry Hutcherson (Laurel) of Deland, FL, sister, Sue Tweady (Sidney), brother, Tony Moore (Sylvia) and numerous grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
