Sylvia Sue Thompson, 78, of Palatka, Florida passed from this life on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Putnam Community Medical Center following brief illness. She was a native of Jacksonville, Florida, coming from Atlanta and had been a resident of Putnam County for more than 16 years. An Executive Secretary by trade, Sylvia was a phenomenal water color and oil painting artist, a talented singer and dancer, incredible woman, loving, caring and generous. She was of the Christian faith.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Willis.
Sylvia is survived by a son, Mark Willis, a daughter, Teri Willis, brothers, Sam Shuman, Richard Shuman, sisters, Rachel Wisniewski, Mary Ann Anderson, grandchildren, Cheyenne Sue Willis, Kolbie Jean Willis, Carlton Lee Willis, and her companion of 8 years, Michael Patt.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Jim Price officiating. Burial will be occur at Jacksonville Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of service.
