Obituary for Tabitha Lynn Collier

Tabitha Lynn Collier, 39, of Palatka, entered her heavenly home on Friday, August 25, 2023 surrounded by those closest to her at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital after an extended illness. Born in St. Augustine, Tabitha was a lifelong resident of Putnam County and graduated from Palatka High School in 2002. Tabitha fiercely loved her friends and family, and will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and genuine soul. Tabitha had the ability to make everyone around her happy and emitted a radiance that cast light to everyone she met. Even through her own pain and discomfort, she continued to be more concerned for others than herself. The compassion she showed for her family and friends was immeasurable. Tabitha had an unwavering love for Christ and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Palatka.

Tabitha leaves behind her husband of 11 years, Justin Collier, sons Austin and Riley Collier, her parents, Butch and Sherrie Strange, nieces, Harper Strange and Keslea Viera, nephew, Taylor Strange, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and close friends that she considered family.

Tabitha was preceded in death by her loving brother, Michael “Mike” Strange, 39, in 2018. We find comfort knowing that Tabitha and Mike have been reunited and are smiling down on us from Heaven. Also preceding Tabitha in death, maternal grandparents, Howard and Joyce Smith, and paternal grandparents, Tommy and Marsha Strange.

Services celebrating Tabitha’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 1, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Palatka with Pastor Willie B. McKinnon, III officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Thursday at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.

The family will also host a celebration of life at a later date. We are so thankful for the outpouring of love and support from our community.
