Tedra Ann Middleton, 77, of Elkton, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Bailey Center for Caring in St. Augustine. A native of St. Augustine and life-long resident of St. Johns County, Tedra graduated from Hastings High School in 1963. She had worked in the family businesses, Fairview Farms and Middleton Harvesters. Tedra was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hastings. In her leisure time, she enjoyed puzzles, crafting, arranging flowers, cooking, camping, boating, fishing and hunting. She is remembered by her family as a devoted homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leighton “Redman” Middleton, Sr., her parents, Preston and Sennie Hardin and a brother, Preston D. Hardin.
Tedra is survived by a son, Leighton Middleton, Jr. (Paula) of Elkton, 2 daughters, Gina Povia (David) of Elkton and Kristy Hobbs (Brian) of St. Augustine, 4 grandchildren, Drew Povia, Brady Hobbs, J.L. Middleton, III (Taylor) and Ashley Middleton (fiancé Doug Gerlach) and 1 great-granddaughter, Leighanna Middleton.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in St. Augustine with Pastor Philip Cochran officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
