Thelma W. “Tootsie” Meredith, 86, of Interlachen, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Community Hospice Bailey Center for Caring in St. Augustine following an extended illness. Born in Macon, Georgia, she resided in Interlachen for 55 years coming from Jacksonville. Tootsie worked over 20 years as the cafeteria manager at Interlachen High School. She was also a member of Paran Baptist Church in Grandin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Louie H. Meredith, Jr., a son, Louie H. “Hank” Meredith, III and a brother, Jim Grey.
Thelma is survived by a son, Mike Meredith (Barbara) of Melrose, 2 daughters, Debra Meredith (Tim Roberts) of Green Cove Springs and Tracy Hornsby (Daniel) of Interlachen, 9 grandchildren, Michael Meredith (Sandy), L.J. Klemons (Tonya), Justin Meredith (Aslia), Michael Paul Meredith (Chelsea), Kymberly Meredith, Lacey Roeder (Zane), Brandon Hornsby (Carly), Kaitlyn Meredith and Meredith Hornsby and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services celebrating Tootsie’s life will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Interlachen with Bro. Charles Litzell officiating.
