Vanessa Brauneck, 38, of St. Augustine and formerly of Palatka, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. She was born in Lima, Peru and had been a resident of St. Augustine since 2012 coming from Palatka. Vanessa earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and had worked as a dental hygienist for 9 years. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed yoga, painting, traveling and preparing Peruvian cuisine. Vanessa was passionate about her daughter and was happiest when spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Daniel Brauneck of St. Augustine, daughter, Ophelia Brauneck, father, Juan Amat Y Leon (Elisa), mother, Maria Giuliana Lanfranco Varea, sister, Julie Bredt (Steve), mother-in-law, Debbie Brauneck, brother-in-law, Matthew Brauneck, 3 nephews, a niece as well as numerous extended family members.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 5, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Palatka with Dr. Robert Mills officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 10:00 am until time of services.
