W. D. “Hawkeye” Brown, 90, of Interlachen, passed from this life on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following a brief illness. He was a native of Paducah, KY and had lived in Interlachen accumulatively for 27 years coming from Paducah. W.D. enlisted in the US Army during the Korean conflict and served 8 years as an MP officer. He was the owner and operator of Brown’s Trucking and after retirement drove a school bus in Paducah. W.D. enjoyed watching NASCAR and will be remembered as enjoying the simple things in life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James David Brown and Milesse Garnett Brown, and brothers, Floyd and Jerry Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary L. Brown of Interlachen, daughter, Deborah Sachen (David) of Chicago, IL, son, James Brown (Mariann) of Peoria, AZ, step-daughters, Deborah Butcher (William) of Interlachen and Jennifer Janes (Nicholas) of Durham, NC, brothers, Charles Brown and Franklin Brown both of Paducah, numerous grand and great-grandchildren as well as other extended family members including special niece, Anita Meredith of Interlachen.
In keeping with W.D.’s wishes no services are scheduled.
